STEPHEN-ARGYLE STORM BOYS HOOPS DOMINANT IN WIN OVER CLEARBROOK-GONVICK

The Stephen-Argyle Storm Boys Basketball team used several runs and outstanding shooting to beat the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears on the final day of the Sacred Heart Tournament in East Grand Forks.

FIRST HALF-

Anders Thompson kept things rolling with a three-pointer of his own before Smith buried his third three-pointer, and Pagnac finished off the run with another basket to give the Storm a 16-2 lead to start the game. Clearbrook-Gonvick answered with a 12-1 run to get within a 17-14 deficit. The teams exchanged baskets for a couple of minutes, and the Storm led 22-19 with 8:20 remaining in the half. The rest of the half was dominated by Stephen-Argyle as they outscored Clearbrook-Gonvick 23-10, with five different players scoring, to take a 45-29 lead into halftime.

SECOND HALF –
Stephen-Argyle started the second half like they started the game, with a Pagnac basket for a 47-29 lead.  Clearbrook-Gonvick chipped away at the deficit and got within a 54-43 deficit six minutes into the half.  Stephen-Argyle responded with  Thompson making another three-pointer, and Dylan Widner added a free throw for a 58-43 lead. The Storm would continue to add to the lead with Blaine Smith making a couple of three-pointers, Reydan Woinarowicz and Pagnac added free throws for a 66-45 lead halfway through the half.
The Storm continued to keep the lead around 20 points until both teams went deep into the bench and got everybody in, allowing the Bears to cut the deficit, but Stephen-Argyle held on to win the game 81-62.
