In the early morning hours of 05/20/23, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle on Hwy. #32 south of Red Lake Falls for speeding. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver, Tylar Housker Williamson (25) of Thief River Falls was intoxicated, and he was arrested. Mr. Williamson was taken to jail in Crookston and booked for misdemeanor DWI. He was released from custody later that day.

On the afternoon of 05/20/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unruly customer at the Red River Ag Store in Plummer. A Red Lake County deputy responded and was able to mediate the situation and get the customer to leave.

On the afternoon of 05/20/23, Edward Fellner (75) of Grand Forks was cited for speeding on CR. #7 east of Hwy. #59.

On the evening of 05/20/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of someone attempting to camp at Huot Park. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the park and advised them that overnight camping is no longer allowed, and they agreed to leave.

On the evening of 05/20/23, Red Lake County deputies responded to a report of an altercation near the school playground in Oklee. Once deputies arrived at the scene, investigation revealed that Austin Ambros May (25) of Oklee had committed acts of domestic violence. Mr. May was also belligerent and disorderly. He was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston and was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault and disorderly conduct. The victim was transported from the scene by the Oklee Ambulance and was taken to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls for treatment and evaluation. Mr. May appeared in Court in Crookston on 05/22/23. He was released with Court-ordered conditions, which include no contact with the victim. He is scheduled to make another court appearance in Red Lake Falls on 05/24/23.

On the evening of 05/20/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of vandalism to a vehicle in Red Lake Falls. That matter remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 05/21/23, Red Lake County law enforcement, the Plummer Fire Department, the Red Lake Falls Ambulance, and the Thief River Falls Ambulance were dispatched to the Red
River Ag Store in Plummer. It was reported that a young man was burned from a gasoline explosion. The juvenile male was taken to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls, then he was transferred to the Hennepin County Burn Center. The boy’s lower extremities were severely burned. Reports indicate that he is currently in serious but stable condition. Witnesses claimed the boy was filling an ATV with gasoline at the pump. The ATV’s engine was running, and he was sitting on the seat. The gasoline fumes ignited, bursting into flame, and he was engulfed in fire.

On the afternoon of 05/21/23, Matthew Aaron Carpenter (43) of Thief River Falls was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Plummer.

On the morning of 05/22/23, Christopher John Moran (33) of Oklee was arrested in Red Lake Falls. Polk County held an active felony warrant for his arrest. A Red Lake County deputy transported him to the Crookston jail, and he was turned over to Polk County authorities.

On 05/22/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received complaints about motor vehicles driving on the bike path in Red Lake Falls. The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind citizens that ATV’s, golf carts and other motorized vehicles are not allowed to travel on the bike path outside of the designated areas described in the city’s ordinances.

On 05/23/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone lost a tailgate from a trailer somewhere along CR. #9 west of Red Lake Falls. If anyone finds the tailgate, they can contact the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office so it can be returned to the owner.

On the afternoon of 05/23/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone was a victim of fraud and had been scammed out of a substantial amount of money. That report remains under investigation.

On the afternoon of 05/23/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person trespassing at a Red Lake Falls residence. Red Lake County law enforcement officers responded to the residence and identified the individuals there. When the property owner was notified who was there, he claimed it was a misunderstanding they could continue to be at the residence and the matter was resolved.

On the afternoon of 05/25/23, a Red Lake County jury convicted Dylan Matthew Klade (31) of McIntosh with misdemeanor obstructing. This incident took place in the city of Brooks in June of 2022. The trial lasted approximately 4 hours and Mr. Klade was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 80 days stayed for a period of one year and he was ordered to serve 10 days immediately. The Court also ordered he pay $260 in fines and fees. Mr. Klade was transported from the courtroom to jail in Crookston by a Red Lake County deputy to serve his sentence.

On the evening of 05/25/23, an Oklee resident reported a man stopped and exited his vehicle on 3rd Ave., then he urinated on the street and drove away. A Red Lake County deputy located the suspect vehicle and stopped it. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver, Anthony Charles Jaeger (52) of Plummer, was intoxicated. Mr. Jaeger was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston and booked for gross misdemeanor DWI. He will be released from custody later today.

On the morning of 05/26/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that an individual’s vehicle was damaged in a hit-and-run crash in the Red Lake County Courthouse parking lot sometime during the day on 05/25/23. That report remains under investigation.
