05-12-23 News Release

On the morning of 05/05/23, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office reported they had recovered a stolen firearm and the registered owner resides in Red Lake County. The owner was notified so they could make arrangements with Dakota County authorities to recover the gun.

On the evening of 05/06/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene and discovered that Jaye Allan Pyatte (31) of Red Lake Falls had committed acts of domestic violence and had damaged another person’s property. Mr. Pyatte was arrested and taken to jail in Crookston. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor criminal damage to property. Mr. Pyatte appeared in Court in Crookston on 05/08/23 and he was released with court ordered conditions.

In the early morning hours of 05/06/23, a domestic disturbance was reported in the city of Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the residence and found that an individual was attempting to re-enter the home of an ex. The homeowner did not want them at their residence. The unwelcomed party agreed to leave, and the situation was mediated.

On the morning of 05/08/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a small child had wandered away from their home. The reporting party brought the small child to the Oklee School, and a Red Lake County deputy was able to contact the child’s parent and they went to the school to pick them up.

On the afternoon of 05/09/23, a juvenile from Trail was cited for exhibition driving in the city of Oklee.

On the evening of 05/09/23, a Red Lake County deputy observed a small child walking, alone without supervision, on Governor St. in Oklee. This was the same child that was unsupervised, in public, earlier this week. The child was returned to their home for the night. On the afternoon of 05/10/23, Red Lake County Law Enforcement Officers executed a Search Warrant at the child’s home in Oklee to gather evidence of neglect and maltreatment. Upon the completion of the warrant, two children were removed from the home and placed with protective services. This investigation is ongoing.

On the afternoon of 05/10/23, Patrick James Lindgren (35) of Thief River Falls was cited for speeding on Hwy. #92 south of Oklee.

On the evening of 05/10/23, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a small child wandering around a residential neighborhood in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded and took custody of the child. Investigation revealed the child had been missing for a significant amount of time before the caregiver realized. The child was placed with protective services and the matter remains under investigation.
